Governor Allegedly Fell and Broke His Head At Governor's Lodge


The Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has purportedly maintained a damage on his head when he supposedly fell at the Governor's Lodge, Asaba, the Punch reports.

According to Punch, It was learnt that he professedly fell and broke his head after falling from a slippery tiles in the house a week ago Wednesday when he was getting ready to go to the World Teachers' Day held in Asaba, the state capital. 


This incited him to direct his appointee, Kingsley Otuaro, to speak on his behalf at the World Teachers' Day festivity in the state. 

However, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Charles Aniagwu who dispel the gossip said it was untrue that the Governor was sick. 

His well being was learnt to be one of the prayer point offered at Monday's thanksgiving mass to mark the start of the 2016/2017 legal year held at the Emmanuel the Savior Catholic Church, Asaba. 

It was learnt that Okowa had been accepting treatment from his own specialist at the Governor's Lodge since the happening. 

There were likewise unverified reports charging that he had been purportedly flown abroad on Monday morning when specialists watched that his wellbeing had worsen. 

A source, who revealed the Governor's health status to journalist late Monday evening, in any case, rejected hints that Okowa had been flown abroad for treatment. 

The source said he was still at the Governor's Lodge and was reacting to treatment. 

Another source, who affirmed the story, said it was only a minor damage and the reason the governor had not been found in any get-together. 

"What I know is that the governor got minor injuries after he erroneously slipped on the tiles but he  is in the state and recovering. I'm certain he will be out openly soon," another source reluctantly told Punch journalist on the phone. 

In the mean time, the governor's aide, Aniagwu, while rejecting the report that his Boss had purportedly been flown abroad, said Okowa was hale and hearty, and had been "taking care of several records since the weekend up to the end of work on Monday." 

As indicated by him, the governor only got a minor wound on his finger and has completely recovered, saying the little injury did not however keep him from doing his obligations as being wrongly circulated on the Internet.
